Guided Bus Tour: Enjoy a 35 minute tour on a double-decked bus covering nearly 75 percent of the San Diego Zoo! Your bus tour ticket also includes use of the Express Bus, double- or single-decked buses.

Skyfari Aerial Tram: Take an airborne shortcut over the treetops to the other end of the park and enjoy spectacular views of the Zoo, the animals, the plant life and the beautiful Balboa Park.

Special Tours: For groups of 15 people or more, these guided tours are offered with various topics to suit your group's interests.

V.I.P. Tours: Take a 2 1/2-hour tour with a guide and explore behind the scenes areas in a private cart or bus. Customize the tour to meet your special interests!

Sunrise Surprise Strolls: Enjoy a sunrise stroll to an animal visiting area, where a keeper spends time with the group. Often to a behind-the-scenes areas , each month is different and the destination is not revealed until the day of the event.

Summer Camp: In the fall, five-day programs are offered for grade levels K-7. Every day includes a variety of crafts, games, animal presentations, and privileged visits to off exhibit areas.

KinderNights: Children ages 3–6 spend the night at the zoo, while meeting some special critters, learning fun facts, and munching on a bedtime snack. A morning version is also available during select months.

Children's Zoo: Fun for children of all ages! Get up close in the Petting Paddock, laugh and learn with Dr. Zoolittle's zany science shows, and visit the animal nursery!

Rain Forest Aviary: Walk through this free-flight aviary replicating a Southeast Asian jungle environment with more than 200 feathered friends representing 60 species .

Tiger River: Stroll along a riverbed that leads to a tiger's lair, a tapir's pool, a fishing cat's den, and a marsh complete with cattails, fallen trees, and wafting mists.

Sun Bear Forest: Lose yourself in this forest in the city, where naturalistic enclosures and thousands of exotic plants simulate an Asian tropical rain forest.

Flamingo Lagoon: You'll be instantly drawn to our Caribbean flamingo flock as you enter the Zoo. They make the perfect welcoming committee!

Reptile Mesa: The Reptile House has delighted and awed visitors for generations. Get up close safely to some amazing creatures.

Wings of Australia: See some of the diverse jewels of our bird collection. These aviaries are currently home to over 100 birds native to Australia.

Kopje: Look closely at the East African Kopje and you'll see more than just a rocky face. This exhibit is a simulation of a specific bio-ecological niche.

Sea Lion Show - It Began with a Roar: This show spotlights animals that can be found around the globe and, as always, features our charismatic California sea lions. Show schedule: Daily at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Wegeforth Bowl, with additional shows during the summer and school holidays

The Wild Ones - Legends & Lore:Delve into the legend and lore of both predators and prey from around the world and witness the mystery of their natural behaviors. You may even get a chance to participate! Daily: Noon and 2 p.m. at Hunte Amphitheater, with additional shows during the summer and school holidays.

Dr. Zoolittle Show:Join our physician of fun, Dr. Zoolittle, in the Children's Zoo for this interactive and hilarious show. Daily during summer, weekends, and school holidays.

Variegated Garden: Notice the irregular color patterns most commonly in the leaves and fruit. A great place to observe and enjoy a wide selection of these unusual plants is at the San Diego Zoo's Variegated Garden near the Skyfari East terminal. Surrounding a duck pond, this garden highlights many eye catching species in a picturesque setting.

Wig L. Worm Composting Garden: Located in the Children's Zoo, you'll find Wig L. Worm's Composting Garden gives our young guests and their parents a hands-on demonstration of how to compost and recycle. It also teaches how these activities conserve the environment by preventing soil erosion, reducing waste in landfills, eliminating reliance on toxic chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and recycling green waste the way Mother Nature intended!

Albert's is open for lunch and summer evening dining.

Treehouse Cafe: Also in the Treehouse complex, the Treehouse Café, with its spectacular views from multilevel decks, offers a variety of hot entrées, salads, and sandwiches. Treat yourself to spaghetti and meatballs, BBQ ribs, chicken enchiladas, and more.

Canyon Cafe: Located next to the Giant Panda Research Station, the Canyon Café offers Mexican specialties including carne asada burritos, fish tacos, taco salads, and decadent hot lobster quesadillas. Prefer turf rather than surf? Charbroiled hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, vegetarian selections, and kid’s meals are also available.

Sydney's Grill: Nestled between the koala and elephant exhibits, Sydnye's Grill provides an array of choices. From hot entrées such as chicken fajitas, fish and chips, and rice bowls to delicious sandwiches including tri-tip steak, charbroiled chicken, and bacon cheeseburgers. This menu also includes deliciously crisp salads, wraps, and fresh fruit. Still hungry? Treat yourself to some ice cream or specialty desserts! Beverages include juice, soft drinks, beer, and wine.
